Heart for Uganda intends to empower Ugandan’s to meet their own needs through farm training, work training, business development and most importantly: mentoring and discipleship.

Office

We seek to equip farmers through sustainable farm training at our Farm Training Center, a 22 acre demonstration farm.

One of the programs we teach is Farming God’s Way. Farming God’s Way is simply a tool of equipping to empower the poor to help themselves.

Farming God’s Way was originated before man was on the face of the earth, when God first put His ways in place to govern His creation and their interrelations with one another.

God is the master farmer who has been farming this way since the beginning and by simply following His Ways, amazing solutions to the food security and poverty crisis can be revealed.

We operate a work training center called the Jinja Work Training Center. This program empowers and equips unemployed youth with the skills necessary to find and keep a job.

This program addresses things such as the poverty mindset (I am poor, I will always be poor and nothing is going to change), entitlement (I’m owed something and someone needs to fix my problems), dependency, lack of excellence, lack of moral values, and lack of self-governance.

Another way we empower Ugandans to meet their own needs is through business training and mentoring. We will teach them business skills so they can become job creators. Some of the business skills we teach include: pricing, bookkeeping, capital management, writing business plans, maintaining credit books, etc.

Everything we do will be centered around discipleship to train them to become Godly leaders. We feel that this is one thing that differentiates Heart for Uganda from many organizations. Many organizations provide aid, training, or development, but leave out the most critical piece, discipleship.
